Using Your Speakerphone

When you have an incoming call, you will hear "Call from ...." Say "Answer" to accept the call or "Ignore" to reject it. You can also tap the Answer/End button to accept and double tap to reject incoming calls.

You place a call by tapping the Voice button. Wait for the Jabra FREEWAY to say "Say a Command". Then you can say "Phone commands" to activate voice dial on your phone, you can say "Redial" to redial the last number you called or "Call back" to call back the last call you received on the Jabra FREEWAY.

Jabra Freeway is very sleek; VoiceAssist is great! : Jabra FREEWAY Bluetooth Speakerphone (Black, Retail Packaging)

I waited for a join of months for this to come to be available, after I saw some on-line video reviews from the Electronics Show...when it finally came to Amazon (they're the only ones selling it), I ordered mine and it came a few days later. I think I'm the only one to give this item a negative present (at least so far) but I'm sad to say I'm sending mine back.

First off, it comes beautifully and plainly packaged, and it is a gorgeous unit. It feels good, solid, and is well-designed. It rides beautifully on the visor. The buttons are clearly marked and they have a very satisfying 'click' to them (the entire cover panel is legitimately floating so that when you click any of the buttons, the whole cover pivots). As you know, it comes with a Usb cable so you can fee it from your computer (and get future software upgrades); the cable also plugs into an adapter plug so you can fee it in your car's accessory port (we used to call it a cigarette lighter), but remember the outlet in many vehicles is only powered when the key is on, so it will only fee while you're driving.

The unit very legitimately paired with two cellphones, my Lg Venus which is probably nearby 4 years old, and a friend's Droid Incredible. I was able to make calls by touching the 'Voice' button and saying 'Phone Commands' which connected the Freeway to my Venus's internal palpate list. For the last join of years, I've used a Plantronics Voyager Pro (earpiece), which roughly always understands my voice commands (e.g., Call John Smith Mobile'). With the Freeway, my Venus often pulled up the wrong name (e.g., 'Did you say call Roger Thomas?') I understand that it was my Venus that was getting the name wrong, but it was based upon facts being relayed to it by the Freeway, which added a layer of error that I don't palpate when using the Plantronics earpiece.

The main infer I wanted to move from earpiece to speakerphone was so I wouldn't have to put on and take off the earpiece each time I get in or out of the car; I held out specifically for the Freeway because it's the only unit that turns on and off automatically. The auto-On highlight worked well, but the auto-Off didn't always disconnect when arriving home. I'd park in the detached garage, and the Freeway would stay connected until I got to the far end of the house (a estimate of other reviews have noted this as well, and since the appropriate bluetooth range of 30 feet appears to sometimes be Too much, maybe bluetooth units should come wih dissimilar range settings; at a motel or office where you park right in front of your room, the Freeway would probably never turn off.)

The traditional infer I'm returning my unit, however, is the loud background noise the microphones pick up. If I'm sitting at a stoplight with the windows up and no radio or fan going, it's okay, but as soon as I begin driving, or roll the window down, or turn on the fan or A/C, the someone at the other end hears a lot of buffeting noise. My friend and I switched phones And took turns in the car with the Freeway so I could palpate what the other someone was hearing, and I have to say I wouldn't want to be on the other end of the Freeway for any longer than necessary. Since my point of reference is my Plantronics earpiece, I have to collate the performance of the Freeway with the earpiece; With the Plantronics, I can be driving at full speed on the freeway with the window down, and the someone at the other end hears tiny if any noise at all. I think they both use similar dual microphone technology, so maybe it has something to do with the fact that the Freeway is exposed on all sides to ambient noise, where an earpiece is shielded from at least some of that.

My phone doesn't have a music player, so I didn't try the Fm feature.

All in all, the unit is very nice, the price is fair, and it is pretty user-friendly. It just didn't meet my expectations for call sound quality, so it's back to the earpiece for me.

Nice Gps Annoying Pop up ads Buyer Beware : Garmin nüvi 3790LMT 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Lifetime Map & Traffic Updates

My first Gps was the Garmin c340. It served me very well for years and when my wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday this year I took the opening to upgrade to Garmin's top of the line Nuvi 3790Lmt. All I can say is a jaw dropping Wow!

After using the 3790Lmt for three weeks now it has performed authentically flawlessly. I'm in a suburb of Atlanta, Ga so I deal with a lot of tangled roads running all over the place and traffic jams galore.

I'll start with the striking display. At a resolution of 800 x 480 it is twice as sharp as other Gps's and the distinction isn't subtle. What a pleasure to see such high definition and detail. 3D mode with the sky in the horizon and hills and valley's in full 3D topography is an absolute delight. And the night time display still maintains a gorgeous 3D look. Navigating around taller buildings you see the buildings in 3D relief.

My 3790Lmt locks on to satellites in less than 10 seconds of pulling out of my garage and within 10 seconds or less in any place else. Often the satellite link is so quick that it feels practically instantaneous.

Voice Command is very well done. I was apprehensive after reading some negative Amazon reviews. After reading the documentation and insight that the unit is only listening when the Voice Icon is green and not red, all worked very well. I use the voice command all the time now. Voice Command works beautifully and gets a full 5 stars from me.

The first thing I did when I unboxed my 3790Lmt was link up to Garmin's myGarmin site and then go to myDashboard where I registered, downloaded the newest maps, and updated the operating software. I've had no complaints with map accuracy and no complaints with the performance of the unit. I've had no failures and all works just as it should.

Lane sustain and Junction View in the Atlanta area are fabulous. As I coming an exit, I'm told what lane to be in and then I get a close-up of the exit ramp to take. It just works beautifully.

I authentically like how maps automatically zoom in when I slow down and coming a turn and then automatically zoom back out again after the turn is completed. It's like it reads my mind. That's a very impressive highlight and very helpful.

Bluetooth linking with my cell phone works very well. When I get in the car my phone immediately links with my 3790 and I have hands-free calling. When I first linked up my entire dialing directory uploaded to my 3790 and I now had voice command potential to "Call SomeName". Nicely done. And with the Bluetooth link, whenever I bring up a Point Of Interest, I also have an option to call them hands-free.

I've found my Poi's to be amazingly up to date. My wife and I even found two new restaurants in our area we didn't even know about and enjoyed supper in two new places this past weekend thanks to my new 3790Lmt.

The only area that was a disappointment to me is no longer a disappointment. If you've been reading the reviews so far you've seen all the rants and low ratings given for advertisement popups when using Traffic Alerts. All I needed to do is purchase the Lifetime premium Traffic assistance for a small one-time cost of $49 and I'm now free of popup ads forever. I couldn't be happier. Traffic warnings and detours have so far been spoton and handled very well.

You do not get a by hand in the box, only a Quick Start Guide. So the first thing I did was go to the Garmin site and download the full Pdf by hand and read through it with my 3790 in hand. If you want to authentically know how to use your 3790 this is very recommended. Trust me, there are many things you will never know about and never take advantage of if you don't edify yourself with your 3790. If I'm going to spend this much for a Gps, I'm going to get the most out of it.

Try this... Touch and hold the green signal force bars on the upper left corner. You have to hold for about 10 seconds or more. You will get a map of all the satellites your unit is accessing along with a bar graph of the signal force of each one. You also can see the 3790's absolute resolution. Mine often resolves down to 10 feet.

You won't want to leave the 3790 in your car when you are away from home, so a good slim pocketable case is a necessity. After some study at my local Best Buy I purchased the LowePro Volta 30. It is a thin semi-hardshell zipper case that is authentically designed for the 3790. It fits to perfection. Here's the Amazon link to it...

Simply touch the super-bright, sunlight-readable color screen to enter a destination, and the 370 takes you there with either 2D or 3D maps and turn-by-turn voice directions. In addition, the 370 accepts custom points of interest (POIs), such as school zones and safety cameras, and lets you set proximity alerts to warn you of upcoming POIs that require your special consideration such as speed zones and safety cameras.

Speaking of keeping you safe, the nüvi 370 lets you make hands-free calls so you can talk freely during your worry-free driving. By integrating Bluetooth wireless technology with a built-in microphone and speaker, you can pair your nüvi with any compatible Bluetooth phone and talk hands-free while staying focused on the road. You no longer have to fumble with your phone's handset to answer a call or dial a number, just tap the 370's screen and you're instantly connected. And with 1-touch dialing for your POIs, you can quickly and conveniently call ahead to make reservations or get needed information.

You can also avoid tie-ups and steer clear of traffic with the nüvi 370's integrated FM TMC traffic receiver. This unit allows you to receive alerts about road construction and traffic problems that lie ahead on your route.
